Scope Text:
The application and development of new technologies are a major focus of design and manufacturing research. Design and production engineers can shorten the time to market and improve the quality of the goods and services delivered with the aid of new approaches and sophisticated tools. There are many ways to look at design and production, hence it is anticipated that this multidisciplinary Special Issue will bring together researchers from several fields. This will produce a variety of viewpoints on the most recent technological developments and breakthroughs, which are the basis of an engineer's job. This mixing of knowledge and results will, in turn, promote additional collaboration.
The advancement of advanced manufacturing technologies has a real-world social and economic impact and is crucial for boosting a nation's economic competitiveness. The special issue also discusses policy instruments to encourage the development of such technologies and offers researchers a platform to compare the capacities of the world's leading nations in the field of advanced manufacturing technology. The scientific and industrial consortia that seek to assist promising ideas at the precompetitive stage are given special consideration.

The article collection is now open for submission. The deadline for submission of papers to the issue is 30 October 2023. Accepted manuscripts will be published ‘online first’ as soon as they are ready.
Please submit your work using our online submission system and select the “3D Printing Technologies (2023)” collection under ‘Section/Category’. If this is your first time submitting, you will need to create an account from which you can upload your manuscript files and track your submission. Following submission, all manuscripts will be assigned to a handling editor and subject to peer review.
