Abstract

We study the groups Gal_L(T) and Gal_KP(T), and the associated equivalence relations E_L and E_KP, attached to a first order theory T. An example is given where E_L≠ E_KP (a non G-compact theory). It is proved that E_KP is the composition of E_L and the closure of E_L. Other examples are given showing this is best possible.
